I didn't like that much.

But I also recently learned of the Kundalini aspect of the serpent uncoiling and the feminine and masculine uniting when we are able to work through our chakras. I really love that symbol and imagery, and I connect it somewhat to mother earth residing in my root chakra and forming the base of everything I do and all that I am. I'm working on bringing Her out and up.cchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08900004354337917385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1642391879245273633.post-40941799200904852122011-03-17T18:33:11.741-07:002011-03-17T18:33:11.741-07:00I will be back to comment on this, but I have a tr...I will be back to comment on this, but I have a tribal bellydance class to get to soon. This fits... so, SO much with today, with the rebirth (I hope!) of my involvement in bellydance... I want to think about it more but I don't have time at the moment! It must steep. This is good, I think. I may end up having to write a post of my own on my spiritual blog and linking it back to avoid a massive comment... like this is becoming. Thanks for the writing! :D

Also, Eve and the Choice Made in Eden is awesome. I loved it. I need to reread it; it has been sitting on my nightstand for months, waiting for me.Jenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18278500937192058338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1642391879245273633.post-15704208151287740232011-03-17T12:53:09.806-07:002011-03-17T12:53:09.806-07:00Carla, that was really powerful for me too. I had always wondered how the transition from a culture where women were powerful and their role in creation of life was revered to what we have now. It totally makes sense that vilifying the female symbols in all the stories would lead to that. It may have taken a few generations, but boy did we ever embrace the message!RasJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14454319137509784348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1642391879245273633.post-48182430781877012942011-03-17T12:08:11.443-07:002011-03-17T12:08:11.443-07:00"Taking symbolic history into account, we mig..."Taking symbolic history into account, we might say that Yahweh placed enmity between Eve and her deep Feminine Source, her wisdom and power."

Excellent! This was an Aha! moment for me - you sort of always know that misogyny and oppression of women must be rooted in fear, and lately I've been thinking that it must be a fear of the power of femininity, of giving life and nurturing life. And now I see how they accomplished it, through this distortion of the ancient symbolism.

Thank you so much for posting this!Carla Schmidt Hollowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12947846629735463824noreply@blogger.com
